Its that time of year again!

Quite fancy getting the gf a spa day, she mentioned at christmas she would really love one at some point. I played golf at Whittlebury hall over christmas aswell and was very impressed with the whole place. Heard great reviews about the all day spa treatments aswell.

Anybody had an experience or recommend it?

Also i have no idea what a "Aromatherapy Crystal Steam" is so really have no idea which to book!

Check the 'Black Tie & Pie' forum; Whittlebury was the venue until last year.

They're very tolerant and didn't take advantage of CCTV images of a 'refreshed' (and nekkid) PHer who confused the room and bog doors in a vulnerable moment.

Whittlebury Hall = Over rated waste of money...based on my experience during BTaP 2007.

I have been to Whittlebury spa on a number of occasions now, a few spa days & the odd treatments. When I first went I thought it was amazing, even a friend commented that it was miles better than the Belfry.

However on my more recent visits, I feel it is too busy & just a constant conveyor belt of cackling loud women! Its not the peace & quite it once used to be. Maybe its just become to popular.

But I have since discovered somewhere new, in fact I took my Mum there for her birthday recently & it was brilliant. Although it lacked a lot of the facilities Whittlebury has, it was such a calmer & more relaxing environment to be in. With fantastic surroundings, the staff were really lovely not at all stuck up.

Take a peep for yourself www.rushtonhall.com (Stableyard Spa)

Will second Rushton Hall,I went in November. Staff excellent, very relaxed atmosphere and beautiful spot in the country. Tea and warm homemade shortbread biscuits afterwards in the Great Hall lick
History of it too is very interesting. Apparently the RNIB bought the building for £1 at one point and it was opened as a school in 1959 until 2003.
Well worth a visit on a nice day for even just for an afternoon tea.
