talking about Cortney Lawes being motm, he's come on leaps and bounds, and is turning into an awsome forward, was giving his opposite number a good going over during the game, likes to stick up for his tema mates too hehe did anyone see his tackle in the Montpelier game? not supprised their scrumhalf didn't get up for a while

There is nothing more satisfying on the pitch than flattening someone like that. What a tackle. That’s what we need, some physical presence upfront.

That's what we did against Leicester. Oh and we didn't let them have the ball.

we do seem to be turning into a more dominate force up front, and our front row are awesome now. looking forward to seeing what we're like when Best and Wilson are back evil

Mallinder will have a tough selection decision. Not a bad problem to have

Euan Murray must be the first choice Lions prop and I would like to see Dylan get a shout on the tour too! Not a great match yesterday at the Gardens but Ben Foden was excellent and Mylers conversion of Ashtons try was outstanding.

Agree on all counts there, allthough I think Foden makes a bigger inpact at fullback than scrumhalf

ive being watching the saints for the last 8 and a bit years and ever since wayne smith left the saints have been slowly moving down the table every year until they got relagated which i think was good for the club because it gave them a chance gel as a team and it showed how much loyalty the players have for the club to stay at the club to fix the mistakes they had made and now i think they going back to the form they were showing between winning the heineken cup and smith leaving and now i look forword to going to the gardens because there is a very good chance of them winning, just need to start winning some away games and we will soon start moving up the table.

very much looking forword to the next few seasons.

Carlos Spencer has left the Saints. It's a shame to see him go. What a great player even though his place kicking is not that great. Ball in hand he is electric.

yeah just read that, wonder where he's off to. Shame that he didn't get the big send off from the fans that he deserved, sad to see him go frown

Two very different trains of though re Carlos. One is a maverick chancer who could light up attacks and deliver when not kicking, the other an over the hill opportunist who could not fit into the Mallinder team mindset.

Carlos is an excellent role model, he does have a place in rugby and was not in my opinion really used correctly by Saints management. In person he is humble, not an extrovert and is happy to enjoy his rugby. A warrior, an ambassador and an inspiration to thousands of young playes who dream of just trying some of his handling moves and his banana kick.

The management owe the fans, the fans owe Carlos for some wonderful memories and I for one as an eight year season ticket holder am sad to see him go. Our backs come alight with him and I am sure the academy would benefit from learning how to attack from Spencer and run unique lines.

Good luck with the future and I wish we could have had the Gardens on their feet saying 'Goodbye and Thank you'.

i am a bit split on spencer because on one hand he is a great player and any team will play well with him in it and will be sad to see him leave but on the other hand the saints are paying him huge wadges to sit on the bench, when now they could bringing two or three younger players just with the money they are not paying spencer.

but i do also wonder how long it will be until reihana departs as well because with the likes of diggin, aston, foden, mayor, downey, lamont and clarke too choose from i can see him sitting on the bench for while as well.

I think Bruce will be gone at the end of this season. Since his injury he has lost some pace and Diggin / Foden / Ansbro / Clarke/ Lamont etc are the future. The NZ era is drawing to a close, but the future looks good and the coaches are nuturing young talent well. Will be a shame when Bruce goes but like Tom Smith and players before them, time maches on, young players develop and professionalism evolves.

The one player I wish we had kept longer was Korne Krige. A really good bloke, loyal but targeted by people and the media for just following instructions in an international match.

At least he is staying in the Guinness Premiership. We will be able to give him a farewell on the 4th April when he returns to the Gardens.

interesting quote from Los
'They are a great team, with strong competition for places and I hope I can play my way in and contribute fully to the end of the season push for honours' is that not the reason why he left the gardens, because the competition for his position was so strong, makes you wonder how much game time he's going to get

Speaking to one of the directors and I was told that it was a mutual decision. He was being paid around £300,000 pa, a lot of money for someone who sits on the bench. He has a few years left in him, he wants to play more rugby and the saints weren't using him. It seems that both parties were happy with the outcome. However they did have to pay off part of his contract.
