My missus has just sen a Kingfisher (n ot for the first time) almost right in the middle of Market Harborough.

Central, how unusual is this?

Not as uncommon as you may think. There's a stream running through the middle of MH..... IIRC.

The river Jodan actually. It was perched on a shopping trolley that has been dumped in the river rolleyes

Mrs TT thinks she saw where it is nesting.

A burrow in an exposed river bank.

I realise it won't be nesting but pehaps I should have said it winter roost.

I find the photograph a little bit misleading as I am not seeing it 'kingfishing anything...

not fishing, but in flight, we took this one in Sri Lanka last year
