I was working on the old P5 Rover and removing the heater box located under the bonnet and I carelessly damaged the fuse box (in my defence it was probably britle and cracked with age).

Anyway, I am having trouble tracking down a crrect replacement (other than second hand which are notorious for bad connections and cracked terminals) so I have started to look for alternatives that I might be able to use with the minimum of alteration.

Here is a pic of the original:

I think it is probably a Lucas item but no one seems to be sure.

The Rover P5 Club, of which I am a Regional Rep, don't seem to be able to offer me a viable solution so I started to think about the possibilty of making my own from a block of plastic (Nylon?) by drilling the rivets from the old block (made from Bakolite (sp?) and drilling and bolting to the plastic block.

The plastic would need working a little to make sure the bolts to the rear couldn't short and to recess the fuse contacts so they can't rotate and short on each other.

Does anyone know of a local firm that could do the basics.

Alternatively I could cast a replacement if I can find a suitable material.
