A very small select group of Northants PH'rs have aquired off road machinery.
Yesterday myself and Josh went over into the old skew bridge ski slope site, fantastic trials through the woods and some decent hills and slopes to overcome and the best part is that it is free.
So i dont know if anyone fancies a couple of hours off roading over there at some time or if we were feeling really adventurous how about a night time meet!!
Happy christmas

I'm sure that Chris would be up for this. When are you thinking of ? Sounds good - is there a website/map or anything so we can take a peek ?

No, but if you do not have permission to be there, they do have the right to take your vehicle and crush it! The law was created to stop chavs in car parks but has been used after the change in rights of way legislation which banned people driving on RUPPS. there are a load of lanes up near Poddington and Santa Pod but they are closed until March frown

Tell me about it! Have seen the place in passing and always wondered but if you dont have permission or a right to be there you can be on very dogy ground and faced with a summons as some one haas reported your vehicle.

I know who used to,
He says that the land is owned by a London based investor who isn't the nicest chap about.
Only for info.

He cant be that nasty as he's allowed the bikes and few 4x4's to use it for the last year and a bit.I'm sure if he was nasty it would soon have fencing all round it and regular security checks.

Well - my 4 x 4 days are over - i managed to roll the discovery end over end today - bit of a mess but at least all passengers were ok - just a bit shaken. So if anyone wants to buy a disco , fantastic V8 auto box brand new insa turbo tyres, 2" lift kit - the list goes on and on - oh yeah -body totalled but still drives.

A couple of mates of mine regularly take their £500 Isuzu Trooper to Tixover - I went when we'd had the snow and ice - Interesting when you mix a 4x4 with 4-5" of ice biggrin

Sorry to hear that Dave, hope you weren't all shaken up too much. At the end of the day its only a bit of tin. Hope it hasn't put you off too much.

Whats next? Sticking to the Westy for a while?

Mine is off the road at the moment too while i wait for the service kit to arrive. Managed to pull out the block of mud which used to be the air filter at the weekend.

Whaddon is arrive, pay £20, get stuck for the whole day. Every other Sunday, next one is this sunday 22nd. If you go look out for a Blue Jeep that sounds like a racing car and give me a wave.

When the Disco sells i shall spend a bit of money on the Seight to make it lighter (seats) but i suppose what i am really saying is faster.I want to better the 0-60 of 2.9 secs!
