As I know some of you lads and lasses like your beer and real ale here’s one not to miss (especially you locals and Malt goers)

Queen Adelaide Beer Festival 30 Aug – 2 Sep (whoops, last year's dates)

(this year) Thurs 28 - Sun 31 Aug

THE pub in Northampton for high quality real ale

Both are strongly recommended by Mrs Beer ! ! ( I pity the fool that gets between Mrs Beer and the bar)

Queen Adelaide, Manor Rd, Kingsthorpe, Northampton
NN2 6QJ (off A519, Welford Road)

Large car park - Free Entry - Open 11am to 11pm

30 Beers - Northampton XV Vs. Glousester XV (well it is a Saints pub)

Mad Apples Cider Bar (landlord's speciality)

local pies, souvenir glasses (if wanted)

I've got two calendars beside me and never use them, I thought 2nd Sep was a Monday and some rugby thing might be going on rolleyes

I lifted details off Paul's site then last night he told me that was last year still showing despite saying two weeks ago that he was getting the site updated

Good pub but poor web site

However, the beer flows, I started with a half of no.2 Potbelly Piggy's Crazy Cutter (named after the Saint's ground man) to try it before it runs out - very nice, get it while you can

PS the pub is in walking distance from your home - set your SatNav to WALK and you'll get home

Well done Matt (all halves I hope)

Will have to tell Mrs Beer about the mild (it calms her a little)

We're off there this evening, taxi there and back, first time I've been in a taxi for 3 or 4 years

Any chance of changing the dates in the title tho'? Thurs 28 - Sun 31 Aug

my fave was olympic gold, I could taste the marzipan in it, very odd!
I finished off the night with a cyderrr lick

piggy's was an odd taste, I didn't have it but has a few sips of Matt's, very strong tasting

Thanks for changing Topic title

marizpan is not for me but I still tried the Olympic Gold and sure enough it wasn't for me - cider, no way far too strong for me

to me Piggys was a blend of Crazy Daze and somthing else which must be ever higher ABV to get to 5.8% (Crazy Daze is 5.5%) but actually tasted weaker than Crazy Daze which is also a lot sweeter - so you could still try Crazy Daze if you see it Di

Some beers were not ready on Thursday so I hope they're on tonight - I'll stick to halves so I'll look out for the Enormous Ape (ale)

beer Di, Matt

Well if I'd been blindfolded and had my tongue mated with a red hot poker even then Potbelly Crazy Cutter would have been my first choice of beers followed by the one at the pub bars and not in the marque Oldershaw Regal Blond and a very close third Amber from Festival brewery

Enourmous APE very sweet at first follwed by a bitter after tatse

If I'd had more of Gt Oakley's Marchin In who knows but without doubt Poybelly Crazy Cutter was the best beer IMO (wish I was on commission)
I'm perhaps not as sober as I thought
