My girlfriends pap is 80th soon and her parents are thinking of bookin a balloon ride for him or possibly him and hsi brother.

Anybody know of anywhere around here that do these sort of things?

We used Candytwist Balloons, Northampton, Tel 01908 542803 about 10 years ago for my mum's 60th. They were very good.

Adventure balloons.

Not used them, but they fly regularly out of the park at the back of my house.

Look very professional, and everybody seems to be having fun!

I did a balloon trip via Virgin.

It was great fun but the weather can shorten the trip, so you may not get your fully booked timeslot in the air.

Go ballooning do trips from Northampton (racecourse) and Kettering (and all over the UK).

I am still waiting to fly from when I first applied in April (keeps being cancelled due to poor weather.) so I can't comment on the flight.

I assume the 80 year old is in good health (as rough landings are possible).

Yeah as far as im aware he is in good health,

Cant believe you have'nt been up yet and you have been booked since april!

Might have to go down another route me thinks. Especially with this weather.

Balloon rides are very relaxing - did mine early morning 7.30 a.m over Rutland, Views were great - unfortunately we did not go over Rutland Water but it was at the time of year when the rape fields were in full flower so picturesque.
