Right then, since the normal monthly meet is a bit of a way for some from this neck of the woods, I thought we could try and have a similar meet down this end of the county. So, any suggestions for dates/times would be good, as would a suitable venue, since I have no idea how many folk there are down this way. I was thinking of a different weekend from the normal meet, should folk wish to go to both, maybe the second Sunday? It could be a meet up and chat type event, or more of a going out for a drive job.
Any and all ideas welcome, even if it is just to get my lazy arse over to Sywell!wink

Guglielmi's workshop? getmecoat

Seriously though - just find a pub with a decent car park in your area.

What about the Pub at Stoke Bruerne (not the Boat, the other one)? It has a huge car park. Not 2nd Sunday if poss as it clashes with Northants TVRCC.

That would be the Navigation. Nice setting, with food for those who want it.
The Green Man at Brackley Hatch would also be very local for me. thumbup But watch for the speed cameras just outside.

Good idea for a SoNo (idea) meet though. Sywell and, heaven-forbid, Kettrin' are a million miles away...wink

The Northants meetings have drifted futher and further from Milton Keynes over the years, so anything further south would be welcome.

Thanks for that, couldn't remember the name! The Boat does much better beer tho; it has been known for individuals to totter up the towpath to retrieve a decent pint....beer

edit: SoNo is a great abbreviation IMHO

No it isn't, but the local meets (Oxford, Herts/Beds/Bucks, Northants) are all pretty far away and Northants is still one of the closest.

Blimey, this may be a bit more popular than I thought! Right, since I don't want to annoy all the TVR folk, is there anything happening on the 3rd Sunday of a month?
As for locations, the Green Man is always easy to get to, but not so great for sitting about chatting due to the A43 being a mere stones throw away across the car park. Some where a little more out in the country would be better me thinks. Which would put either of the pubs in Stoke Bruerne at the top of a short list so far. That would also make it a bit further south, so might also tempt those in MK out for a brew. I have no problems with this being a SoNo (oh go on then) and MK meet. The more the merrier really.

I have no idea what it's like but somewhere central like the pub in Towcester opposite the race course would be ideal- the only one with parking that I can think of, (it begins with an R, can't remember though)
20 mins from MK, Daventry and Northampton, we would attend if not already busy smile

Good idea that is. Although I've never been there, so a bit of a recon may be required.wink And if it is rubbish, Stoke Bruerne is only another 5-0 mins down the road.

In my role as local pub guide: That would be the Folly.

Used to be good 18 years ago or so - the landlord ran the bar for my first wedding reception! beer Not sure what it's like now though. Worth a look definitely.
