Hi,

Some bd has vandalised my car so I need the bonnet resprayed - any recommendations for local paintshops that are familiar with fibreglass gratefully received.

Thanks.

Sorry to hear that.

Try Powers Bodyshop (formerly Newlun Performance) in Gayton. They specialise in TVR, Lotus, Ferrari etc. Top notch work and good prices. Greg Lun 07773373038.

Disgusted to see what you've suffered. Little bds.

If your still getting quotes - try:-
Paint Tec, Northampton - 01604 864900 (Between Blisworth & Roade)
Car body repair and painting -

They were hand crafting the front end of a 1970's racer when my car was in.

I used Chipsaway (Paul Smith) for a scrape on my TVR. Fibreglass wasn't damaged though. He did a lovely job. Not sure whether he can repair fibre glass but he may be worth a call.

He is a PHer, hides in the Porsche forum, can't think of his PH name now though

They do "a lot" of fibreglass work as the last time I was there they had a lot of motorsport stuff in including quite a few Jaguar JP1 body panels in, due to this they can be very busy at times but they they don't do the "oh we can fit you in" then rush the job but they will discuss options and work with you to get a solution (they fitted a new wing on my R32 in time for the PH Show - dropped off saturday morning ready by Monday lunchtime).

Quality, friendly service.

Probably a bit late now but Queensbury Road Garage in Kettering. They are Reliant Scimitar specialist so well aquainted with fibreglass repair and painting.

Is that the insurance company recommended repairer? Make sure you are 100% with the work before you sign for it, I had a right mare with an insurers approved place - car went back in twice , they wanted a 3rd chance to put right then I went to a bodyshop of my choosing.

It's my choice - the insurers (Hagerty) said I could take it anywhere I wanted. They had a D-type in so they should be good!

Great news Tony

Does that mean you'll be putting your name to this
http://www.pistonheads.com/calendar/event.asp?i=36...

And going to defend your title

I'd looked out an old tin of KIWI for you in case you couldn't find anyone for the paintwork biggrin

Thanks Penny, that's very kind of you to say biggrin

I've heard good things about Paint Tec from within the trade, so I think he is the best place for that type of damage. A whole bonnet on a Vette is way out of my league - yikes eek
