Where have they gone? Noticed on the train this morning that the camp near the station appears to have been cleaned up and also the horses seem to have vanished too.

Steve, where do you commute from>to out of interest? My "The Grange" @ Desborough inspired relocation has now been completed (albeit I ended up elsewhere..) and looking at possible job options now the home is settled...

So which station do you drive to then? MH? Any more news re Des station re-opening? Flasher lives in the Grange and been up a few times to see him and its very pleasant in there. In fact I have seen little to support the reputation that Des seems to have.

I dread to think the cost of the season ticket for you! My early enquiries suggest its £5k from Wellingborough so need to earn £8k to pay for travel and not sure what premium my job attracts in the smoke.

As a newbie to the area, I am not too impressed with Wellingborough TBH, although there are some lovely villages/small towns not far away (I bought in one of them). The newer parts of Wellingborough near The Priory pub dont look too bad mind, and not a bad pub for a Sunday hangover cure roast dinner.

MH is nearer but not as many trains as Kettering. Cost is nearer £6k, but you do get a seat most mornings!

Desborough is OK, not the best place but alright, pubs are very poor though.
(Still much nicer than Wellingborough).

I spent a lot of time last year researching Northants to find somewhere to set up happy home. Eventually bought a newbuild in Higham Ferrers and happy as a pig in ....

Its a bit quiet if you want clubs etc but I hit the big 3 0 this year so happy in a small market town with 4 pubs, 2 chinese restaurants, an Indian and a coffee shop for sunday hangovers. Very quaint place and so far, so good. smile

And 4/5 miles from wellingborough is plenty wink

Look closely, it just hides the Hemmingwell, the worst place in W'boro. Its the sort of place, you wipe your feet on the way out.

As for Kangaroo Spinney, its been fairly empty for a while now, must be the road they're going drive through there as part of the WEAST development.

The horses were back this morning.
Most odd.
Wonder if those loveable tinkers will be back tonight?

Doubt it, theres a large pile of earth, and some sewer pipes blocking the entrance now
