I have to make a trip to Stansted airport soon and will need to arrive at 7.30am.

I know the A14 can be bad in places during the rush hour but I don't know where.

Guessing I have to leave approx 5.30am, will the A14 and M1 be reasonable or would minor roads be better?

Thanks

(sorry I did mean M11)

I should think if you're leaving that early in the morning the A14 would be ok

or you could go A428-A421-A428 and get on the M11 at Cambridge

A14, M11 - fine at that time, accidents permitting.

Alternatively, and for a nice drive, pick up the B645 from Higham Ferrers (off the A45 at Rushden) and follow to St Neots via Kimbolton (fast swoopy road beloved by bikers), then onto A428 as suggested above. Will be my route to work from Mon smile

Yes Matt, my Looga days are over... sad to be finishing there as the folk were cool (mainly) and there was always something funny going on, but sure won't miss the commute in. smile

Looks interesting.. How long does that take? Got a few trips in the next month or so and am trying to avoid anything that involves the M1/25..

Gets me to Cambourne from near Thrappo in about 40 mins if flowing. Might be the fog over the last few days but A428 has been a 'mare other side of St Neots. Word is that happens if A14 clogs up for any reason. Have been hitting it at 8.45ish mind, so will be going in a bit earlier.

Or as an alternative.....at St Neots pick up the B1046 to J12 of the M11....twisty stuff compared to B645, but SOOOOO much better than A428. Go on, go on, go on. biggrin
