I agree with Matt, doing nothing is not an option.

"Sixfields, which also has three pedestrian crossings, has 45."

Sixfields runs so much smoother now. at least it didn't end up like this.

The paper is twisting it. Its not 45 sets of signals but 45 traffic signal heads on the St Peters way Roundabout and the Black Lion Hill Junction.
The work started on the lights about 8 weeks ago and it will improve the traffic flow.

anything will improve the traffic around there, closing B&Q would be a start wink
just a shame that the council couldn't plan it a bit better so that the 2 places that get most congested in the morning and evening weren't both being worked on at the same time

id say its a good and bad idea

good - it wot make it as much accident prone as it is ( althought ive never seen or heard of a crash there)

Bad - It's quite a busy roundabout, Lights being put in could result in very short turns so green only stays on for a short period of time, thus causing longer queues

If it works though then maybe its for the best

Not much fun at the moment is it? It took me ages to get thru there on Saturday morning. Hope the lights help matters... confused

And why does the paper call it the "St Peter's Way Roundabout"? Isn't it the Carlsberg Roundabout to everyone??

Baz.

I've always known it as the one with the bloody roadworks on !

B&Q is not the problem, it's all teh people using the pedestrian crossing which is set to go off instantly and as often as someone presses the button. Ban pedestrians I say !

i don't know why they had to put the crossings so close to the roundabout because you come of the roundabout and if you have to stop it blocks the whole bloody roundabout up, just so a couple of people can cross. can't they just walk a bit further down the road to cross.
