Radio reception

Has anyone noticed a difference in the quality of the Radio 1 and 2 reception around Northampton recently?
We listen to R1 and 2 usually but cannot get reception in northampton, as soon as we hit MK, its fine, and the yokel northants 96 and bbc, is fine.
Very odd.... anyone?

My radio reception has been pants since around Oct/Nov, on all channels. I'm in Bucks, but I suspect the effect is the same all over England. I believe it's to do with Solar Flares (really!) but it's very annoying.

I've noticed the same thing.... but my theory is that they're running the analogue system down to make everyone switch to DAB !!

ever since that small change over from anologe to digal in one area?

They had some really bad transmitter problems around MK early part of October, the analogue signal in my house has been intermittently terrible ever since. The signal in the car is fine though.

I have DAB, my reception is great!
