we normally have the villagers get together and come round..........though they seem to expect a drop of port and a mince pie at every stop (along with a donation to something).

I think it's fair to say that by the time they get to the end of the village they're pretty merry

Had the Round Rable or something the other night...I declined their offer to take my hard earned petrol money as they didn't come anywhere near my house...I live in a clu-de-sac of 5 houses and they'd never get it up there. Done my bit for charity this year!

Last year had 2 lads who must have been around 14/15 singing one round of jingle bells before scampering off next door to repeat what appeared to be the only carol they knew - they looked dead nervous so paid up for the effort hehe

No pub in my village, which is why they like to have a few tipples on the way round, the only downside is that the singing gets ropey towards the end biggrin

think I've missed the carol singers this time, and didn't have any mince pies or port for them anyway if they had caught me in.

Sloe Gin yes I'd join you on that one

definitely missed them as they had set dates they were coming round, and as I don't like mince pies I shalln't be buying any.

No christmas tree this year for me, just not getting in the festive spirit this year.

know the feeling when you are on your own. Sprayed a few twigs and put a few baubles on, and threw lights on tree outside thats about it.

Wont even be going that far, apart from getting my other half a present that will be about it. Not quite sure where my christmas spirit has gone the last 2 years.

Went out last night 'Carol Singing' shout raising money for MacMillan Nurses.

Managed to blag quite a few quid from the old and needy for the nurses on pain of singing.

Out again tonight for more singing and merriment drink

Probably raised over £150 in two nights.

luckly enough we're in the only house on the road , which is pitch black and next to a cemetery so we dont get any smile

might sound a bit harsh(quote me if im wrong) but when you see people going round singing carols getting money into thier pockets do all of them do it as a "sign" of religon, or just a way to get a little bit of money?

But fair play to those who raise money for churches etc.

I'm also up a narrow lane.......pitch black at night and a cemetary next door. the outside light has blown its bulb as well so its extra special dark and no-one comes up the drive.
