Just had a phone call from Mercedes Benz of censored where my car is in for a 'free' service due to the amount of problems we have had with the car.
Hello sir - your car is in for a free service - a couple of things have cropped up that i am afraid are chargeable and need doing.
Whats that then - i say
The auto gearbox is due a flush and oil change.
How much will that cost - i say
F**K me - i think
Does it really need to be done - i say
Yes.
OK - i say - what else
It needs rear pads aswell Mr Horam
How much will that cost - i say
F**K me again - i think
Better get on with it then - i say
One more thing Mr Horam - it needs four new tyres.
Forget it - i say
Free Service my ass
Dave

yikesHow long have you had the car? did you buy it from them?

I would have told them to shove it.

It really annoys me when they do that.

had the car just over six months - it was'nt brand new - just over two years - but had a lot of problems to start with.
Must add though - i have done a track day and attended the fighting torque event and it does get driven very hard when i am in it - but shh - dont tell MB that.

I have used albert lock before when i had an A class - problem is now that if you want the 30 year mobolife it has to have a full MB service history. With regards to the gearbox flush i was told that i did,nt have to have it done but say in 10 years time the gearbox packs in there is a good chance MB will pay if car has full history and all reomended work carried out - and at just under £10k for the box it kind of makes sense.
Thanks for advice though - See you Sunday

I can't it believe Dave

four tyres tyres, rear brakes, gearbox flush

the way you drive the car eek surely you also need front brakes and suspension parts too, in addition

It'll all be different with a V8 Westie on the track laugh just ask Wayne
