I ran out of petrol tonight, 10.30pm within yards of Mereway Tesco, scary going through the two underpasses to get to the store though frown

Looks like we will be filling up the minute the light goes on in future yes No more abusing my red line smile

You want to try a tvr , the petrol gauge is useless most of the time , and v8's tend to drink like fish ! must get one of those little petrol cans .

Phew....and I thought you'd blown the engine, over revving it too much.

playing redline bingo is one of my passtimes, however its a little bit of a cheat in my car because of the little 'range computer' still pulling into the carpark at work with 1 mile of fuel left makes me smile. I'll come unstuck one of these days though. frown

And that's where you may come unstuck in your Elise; The 'L' on the petrol gauge doesn't stand for 'litres', it must stand for something else like 'Lotus' perhaps. The last number it displays before 'refill' is '11L', so you would think you have 10 litres remaining when 'refill' is displayed, but I can assure you this is not the case. nerd

Tsk...It means 'lift'. As in 'find one'! Good job TVR gauges are so reliable wink

I left home in the Saab the other day, just got onto the A1 and the reserve light came on, pah. Did my usual 38 miles to work and popping to Sainsburys for their finest and 74.2L went in....into a 75L tank yikes

Might fill up on the way in next time hehe

Chrysler 300C = 71L
Honda S2000 = 50L; 51L if you tip it on its side... biglaugh

Surprised about the Honda, you would think the tanks would be smaller to save the weight

It's a bit eye watering to pay for especially when fuel gets to £1 pl!
