Rutland Rumble 3 on Sunday 7th October
Discussion
Hi all
For those of you that have been gently reminding me since last the last Rumble in September 2006 (is it really that long ago?!) I have finally got round to organising the 3rd Rutland Rumble for 7th October.
If you've not joined us before the format is pretty simple - a wide variety of "interesting" cars meet up, go for a hoon, have a break at a nice pub, kick tyres etc then have the option of another hoon after lunch.
The venue this time will be The Exeter Arms, Barrowden, Rutland, LE15 8EQ, 01572 747247, in a great setting overlooking the Welland Valley. Easiest access is from the A47.
The plan is to meet at the pub ready to leave for 11.00am on a scenic drive around Rutland, returning to the pub by 12.30ish for lunch (I need to test run the whole route in one go to confirm exactly how long it will take us!) I'll also have a route for another run after lunch if enough people are interested.
Please note that the drives are not races, just a chance to enjoy some of the quiet flowing roads in and around Rutland
The pub does excellent food and, for the non-drivers, brews it's own beer If you would like the full Sunday roast please contact the pub, tell them you are part of the "car meet" and book a table. If you'll only want a sandwich there's no need to book as these will be served in the bar.
As is usual for anything like this Central is willing to meet up with anyone coming from the south at the Trading Post in Kettering.
Petclub is coming with some other cars from the Leicester direction if anyone wants to join them (Petclub, when you've worked out a meet point let me know the details and I'll add the details here).
I'm in Uppingham and will be happy to head towards Stamford to meet anyone coming from the east or the A1.
Please add your name to this thread or drop me an email if you intend coming along with where you'll be meeting us (and what you'll be driving!) so that I can have a rough idea of numbers.
Cheers for now,
Longers

May have to grab a lift with CCM - lived in Rutland from 1971 - 1999 (folks still live there) if you want any route advice happy to let you know (especially TVR friendly ones - most of the "rally routes" I used to use are now sealed up unless you are an off roader)
In the meantime I have PM'd a route..
