I have started this thread as a reference point for anyone that changes the subject in any other thread which has nothing whatsoever to do with TVRs, S6 Engines, etc.

If it's any help, I'm not going to look at it again for a month to see just how interesting TVR Bashing really is !

Its true .... the Cerbera made an awful squeaking squelching ripping noise when I got it out of the garage on Thursday. It must have gone away with very warm tyres last time it was used - it had stuck to the paint on the garage floor. I've now left Chris 4 bald patches on the floor hehe

Apart from that it was great though so no TVR bashing from me today

I've been dreaming of a T350 purchase of late, and today I'm really worried about the S6 reliability and seemingly random chances of finding a good one. Not to mention the shocking potential rebuild costs, which could total to be >30% of the value of the car!

Yesterday I had a different opinion and I'll probably have a different one tomorrow as well.

Sorry rant over but at least its on topic! wink

hehe Try stirring into the mix the fact that the thing will feel totally different on back to back journeys over the same route on the same day without changing a thing apart from the time of the day.

I can only speak from personal experience, and from a Tuscan perspective, but I bought a low mileage one after it had had a rebuild. I am careful when I am warming up, hardly ever thrash the b*lloks off it (evil), use it as often as I can (every day if I need to), have it serviced regularly at the proper times, replace things when they need replacing, check the oil as regularly as I remember, only (well most of the time) put BP Ultima or Shell powerwhatyacallit petrol in it and engine wise it has never let me down (kiss of death smilie !). I've had it 3 years and I have absolutely no intention of getting rid of it at the moment.

It lives on the street with a car cover on if it looks like rain or Saturday night and has a huge boot (slightly irrelevant I know but I was running out of things to say). My current worry is that the cigarette lighter won't work even though I have change a blown fuse.

Thank you everyone for your valuable contributions> I think that I have now conclusively proved, beyond all reasonable doubt, that everyone loves TVRs and secretly wishes they had one, and that the S6 knocking is simply a clever means to force the residual prices down to bring them into an affordable bracket, which would mean people who live in council houses could afford one.......

OVER MY ROTTING CORPSE !
