. . . where?

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to sell the Exige and get myself a T350C. Where can I get a test drive to make sure its what I want?

There isn't one really.

The nearest TVR specialist are either Offord Motor Co. out towards Cambs or Peter Smith in Derby. This is of course excluding Guglielmi who, AFAIK, don't sell cars.

The best chance of finding one is through someone like Fernhursts or through the TVRCC.

There are four for sale on the TVRCC website classifieds but none are local.

You could of course track one down via someone like James Agger (A TVR specialist)but it may not be a good route for you.

Be quiet Central !

There used to be a main dealer at Silverstone but they went through some changes and were an independant. I have no idea if they are still there ?

I take the Tuscan to TVR Power at Coventry. They are only about 30/35 minutes away. They are cheap compared to some of the other prices I have seen and they know what they are doing. They used to be part of TVR but have bought themselves out during the latest changes. Very good and definately recommended. They used to have a T350 that they used as a loan car when mine went in for a service (along with others). I am sure they would be very happy to help.

Get in touch if you need further advice.

whats the reason? because loads of people have got them? wink I spoke to Bosscerbera a while back about the whole S6 engine problem, he said that there was one bad batch of engines right at the start, and with the usual chinese whispers type thing, it got out of hand and everyone assumed that all S6 engines were rubbish and would blow up at a moments notice. I do believe that Ian's never had a problem with his
Its a bit like the reliability issues with TVR's in general, everyone thinks that they are rubbish, when infact they're not any different to other makes smile

Unfortunately I have to agree with the concerns on the S6 engine. True a couple of friends of mine have not had any issues, but unfortunately I know of more people who have had issues, than haven't.

We've toyed with upgrading our Chimaera a couple of times, but don't have faith in the S6 - it's a real shame.

However - touches wood desperately - most people don't have huge problems with the V8.

STOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP ! shout

I'm sure that people can make up their own minds without every thread being subjected to a "let's have a go at TVR/S6/Central's belly etc. All the poor chap did was ask where the nearest TVR Garage was. Give the boy a break.

I'll start a new thread for TVR bashing. Now get back to work ! tank

I've got a few good contacts now to source a car, but where is best to get a test drive? I'd like to confirm that i like it before i get someone to find one for me. Don't want to waste peoples time.

I've had a passenger ride in Martins car but i do need to drive one before i can decide what i want. Champ cars have a yellow one. Don't like that particular car very much but may try to arrange a test drive of it anyway.

Regarding the S6 i just don't know what to beleive if i'm honest. If i love the car to drive then i can at least make an informed decision knowing the risks up front. Its not so much the time off road that bothers me, its more the expense.

Cheers,

Si

I'd say its well worth giving Champcars a ring and going for a test drive, got nothing to lose, look forward to seeing what ever you decide to buy
