I had the opertunity to take a neighbours SRC Cobra for a spin the other day and some thoughts came forward. With the V8 rumble in your bones, the floor racing past within a fingertips reach and "nice car mate" comments from all the spotty teenagers who see you. It was fabulous and a drive I've not enjoyed so much for a while now.

Do you still get the same feelings every time you drive your machine? or does it just become part of 'normality' in your life and do you need to search for something else?

The space on the drive for my Land Rover project is currently being taken up by a caravan but 'Finance' has promised that I can have a project for my mid life crisis (which is looming ever nearer) when I have taken her and the family on holidays enough.

I only ask as the V8 experience has changed my thoughts on what I eventually want to do (kids are still to young and unable to hand me a 13mm spanner without it being covered in peanut butter). Do I keep with my Landy thoughts? or try something which has a me me me factor and will turn heads more? - Does it really last?

I also only ask as I find it difficult getting out to social events with the shifts & kids, so thought I'd ask you lot!

I've had my Cobra (ex RR engine) on the road for nearly a year now and I still end up with a big grin on my face whenever I drive it.cloud9
Go for a V8 you know it makes sense

A Cerbera is featured in this months EVO "scarey cars issue."

Draw your own conclusion.

Thanks for your thought guys. Will give me something more to think about, building something again has a certain edge over a production v8 though.

I suggest this but it sounds like a very tall order to sort out

Thanks Jack, but it's going to have to be Kit or a Landy - TVR's break down too often.... smile

Beware rock bottom Cerbs! teacher They are in the bargain bucket for a reason. The subject is well documented over on the Cerbera forum.

Something *like* Paul's Cobra or one of the RV8 TVRs may prove a better option?

Paul - you still owe me a ride in the Cobra for letting you help me with the engine on the P5! wink

Want to buy a Range Rover haynes manual? PM me your address/mob phone number and I'll arrange to drop it off. That way I get to see progress on the latest project.
