Mrs Beer allowed me to take her Copen on the Ring under the strict understanding that it was not damaged

I went so slow that even Mrs Beer had time to take two photos or even do a drawing

It can get too busy

Note the big Healey (red with white roof) in photo above, it crashed on it's next lap, the lap I was on, and also just passed that accident a Porsche 911 had broken down hehe and had to be transportered off (we went over with 911 owner friends)

Thanks for sharing your pic's. I'll be there myself for the first time on Monday after watching a weekends racing at Spa. I'll also be taking it VERY steadily at Da Ring! However I'll be meeting up with some hard core trackday enthusiasts I've got to know over the last couple of weeks from asking question in the Trackday Forum who will be there at the same time. They've kindly offered to take me for some "proper" laps while my TVR is safely tucked up in the car park wink

I have to say I'm really excited bounce but also starting to get a bit nervous about the whole thing eek

Thanks Matt, some of Mrs Beer's better photos

It was fantastic - could do with seperate track time for bikes and cars to be fairer to both but it's a must, I hope I get another oppitunity in the future biggrin

Very wise, I'll put some notes as a first timer on this thread for you later when I've finished washing Mrs Beer's car (in the light rain, too heavy at the moment) and the site isn't running as slow as me on Da Ring

Very, very wise but don't encourage too much showing off that's how mistakes are made

Nigel,

I think I saw your car parked up at Brunchen on Sunday afternoon!

Didnt realise it was a PHer.

Great weather wasn't it! Stupidly busy though, Monday was much quieter.

Russ, Mrs Beer has already given our Ring area map away so I'm not sure where Brunchen is but we did stop a few times on our Sunday afternoon drive

S2000, an exciting car to to take on the Ring, I used to own one same colour as yours, it wasn't you then that went passed me on the Ring then

As Mrs Beer would quickly tell you the Copen isn't strictly a PH car as it belongs to her (Nev's got a sticker on his car, red Supra)

You also obviously missed Thursday's wet drive across Europe and Friday's cloud at the curcuit - but other than that the weather was excellent, the people and the area were nice and the beer and food very reasonable - Mrs Beer said it was one of her best holidays !

We got on to the track as early as possible as we could see that it was going to be very busy (11:17 for Nev, 11:18 for me , after the Old Timers had finished racing)

Monday we had to drive back to Calais

We stayed at the Dorint Hotel (a class above what we're used to) in the very clean and smart town of Bad Neuenahr

Mrs Beer did point out a chap wearing a PH Le Mans t-shirt at the hotel was that you perhaps?

Coincidentally Brünnchen just so happens to be the section where the above pics were taken.

We drove across friday night / saturday am, so missed all of the bad weather and then drove back yesterday.

It was my first time out there, but I am definetely going to repeat the experience!

The S2000 performed faultlessly, but was a bit hairy on some of the very high speed corners!

Doubtful you would have spotted me, I wasnt wearing any PH attire - I think I was the only British registered S2K out there though.

Yes some of Mrs Beer's better efforts (others have been deleted)

Midget was not allowed - GT6 experience too fresh

No real special German beers

I'll email you more details later (I've not forgotten just busy catching up)

James, you would definitely love it there

Yeah, sorry rolleyes I thought (afterwards of course) that might be the case and now I've got the map again I know it's at the 16km mark
We went there to view the Old Timers race and from there to our runs and back again to watch others go round, from first getting their to leaving the crowd really grew

biggrin wow, must have been a fantastic experience. I'm going to organise a trip to the ring next year with a few friends - i'll pick your brains and ask some advice when i'm seriously looking into it, if that's okay? On that thought we're also planning to spend a couple of weeks in Italy starting off at stelvio and then on if any of you have any experience of this area?

Clair, it was a fantastic and enjoyable time biggrin

I'll put some thoughts on this thread and I'm more than happy to tell you what little I know

I'm not very well travelled so know nothing of the other area, sorry
