Hi all live in Northampton, looking for a good window tinter in the town any one got any recommendations?

be careful with the tint amount mate, know a couple of folks round the area who've been done for over tinted windows frown

AFAIK, so long as you leave the windows forward of the B pillar clear, you'll be okay.

We use Alan at SunGuard, who are based in Banbury but are mobile. Used them for years with no complaints.

yes That's how I understand it too, both folks I know were all tinted !

they didn't have 22inch spinners on the cars too did they? hehe

If i remember rightly the front ones have to let at least 70% of the light through to be legal (but don't quote me on that)!

As mentioned the back ones can be as dark as you want, even if you couldn't see out, it would be no different to a van so is legal.

Hi thanks for all the advise, i did have a chat to a tinter from welligborough he has said that he has done loads of 50% tints back and front with no probs but i am not convinced and my car is parked in Campbell Police station once a week so i need to be careful. lol

i had lightish tints on my car but bout 6 months ago was pulled into that layby jus past wboro copshop outside the castle at about 9pm by police, there were lots of em and they had some vosa people there, were doin random checks, anyway they used a gizmo on my window and said they were illegal and told me to take em off and also said i was only allowed to drive home as it was dangerous apparently so jus be careful, if the tinter says theyre legal get it in writing if you get pulled by police and they say otherwise ask the tinter for your money back
