Hi all,

It's a pity the date clashes with Sporting Bears treasure hunt and cakes but this year the Oakham Carnival in Rutland is happening on Sunday 1/7.

The format will be similar to last year which was....
- meet at lunchtime near or in Oakham
- take part in the carnival parade along the High Street
- park cars up for everyone to oggle at for the afternoon
- wander round and find a shady spot for a cold beer or icecream!

I think everyone that came along last year enjoyed it - being one of the hottest days of the year may have helped!!

The only difference this year is that rather than initally parking at the school the cars will be given pride of place in the Market Square before the parade.

Perhaps we could also have a "mini Rutland Rumble" for an hour or so on the Sunday morning and take the scenic route into Oakham....?

Any "interesting" cars are welcome - last year saw a selection of TVR's, Jag's, a WW2 jeep, a vintage Rolls Royce, a Grinall etc

I'll post more details of exact timings when I get them, all that is needed now is to find approximate numbers of who'd be interested in coming along.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Longers

I assume you men the PH meeting on 1/7/07 - No problem - Get people to meet early - convoy across to do a short rumble and then take part in the Carnival.

What's the problem?

You're going to need three cars and three drivers then

ETA: it's always the way with events, none or two or three on the same day, why is that

I didn't realise about the clash of dates when I posted but as Alan said you could combine meet, rumble and Carnival

Or as an alternative there's RC&S Fun Day (and home-made cakes)

I appreciate that at this time of year "fixture congestion" can be a bit of a problem!

Anyway, thanks to Tyre Tread (& Teddy!) and Petclub for volunteering. Anyone else interested?
