Hi I'm meeting a friend who's coming from Leicester & I'm coming from Cambridge - we decided that Duddington (or nearabouts!) is the easiest halfway point.

Don't exactly know the area so hoping for a bit of help. Are there any good pubs to meet for lunch that won't mind two noisy Cobras burbling away whilst we compare notes?

Any help would be gratefully received.

I had to look on goolge maps cos I'd never heard of it hehe
Don't know any specific ones there, but if you fancy travelling just a little bit further, the Finches Arms in Upper Hambleton is really nice, its on the spit of land in rutland water http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&

The only thing in Duddington is the pub, well as you drive past on the A43 it's all you can see anyway.
Nice pub and good food, seem to recollect you have to book though. If you want food that is.
As for the name really have no idea, but you can't miss it.

I dunno if the lunch was today - if it was I'm wasting my time typing this!!

Hambleton suggestion is good but the view from the pub has been ruined by the house built behind it

The pub at Duddington is ok. I much prefer the Exeter Arms at Barrowden though, a couple of miles towards Leic just off A47 (turn at Morcott). Great food, great beer from the brewery out the back and great views. The 1 mile lane from the A47 is a bit bumpy so best to keep to a sensible speed on that bit The green out at the front is gagging to have a load of nice motors lined up around it.... I feel a Rumble comin' on.....!!

Longers

PS I'm in Uppingham, just off of the A47. You're more than welcome to park up outside my house and leave your engines running while I knock together a sarnie for you

thumbup No, meet is on Sunday morning, we just wanted somewhere to park the cars up for an hour or so & compare the way they both run - my Cobra needs fiddling with & the chap I'm meeting is an expert on RV8 engine management so hoping he'll diagnose one or two of the niggly problems with the way it's running. Give us a wave on Sunday.... a sandwich sounds good. yes

You guys should join us at the Aviator Hotel in Sywell for our monthly meet then - Plenty of RV8's around and various others.

Must be around the halfway mark and planty of nice routes to get you both there and back.

The Aviator does baguettes or full Sunday roast and the car park is big enough that you guys can go off on your own whilst you do the analysis thing.

When are your meets?

I would come this Sunday (if thats what you mean) but need to go back to Ely as soon as we're done, swap cars then off to Bath to see my boyfriends family. My boyfriend doesn't fancy rumbling down to Bath & back in the cobra so instead we've gotto do it "rally-style" in his 205 Gti.

But definitely up for more meets & have never been down that neck of the woods before!

Hannah.

2 minutes from the A43, then 5/10 minutes from the A14. Easy!
