I`m guessing PP`s looking at something like the E-Type or the XKR supercharged?
Yes I am looking at the XKR. Seems to be reasonably on the money and quite low mileage.
Good man! Just had a word with my old man. He`s not heard any dodgey stories about the place.
I`m available if you need help kicking tyres.
Sister outlet to Thrapston Garage... family run firm with Thrapston seeming to do the more 'mainstream' stuff and TH the more oddball/classic/sports. Often see the proprietors buzzing around in interesting stuff so I guess they are petrolheads. Seen some decent motors there over the years but never managed to cut a deal. The Jag looks tasty and if the deal was right, I'd be happy to buy from them. Good luck (and check the bumpers/cam chain tensioners/nikasil bores)

If I get anywhere near to buying it I will insist on a blow-by test before I part with any of my hard earned
Score; 7/10
For my pains I bought a Discovery off them, about Five years back,
obviously despite looking in good fettle &
coming as a trade in apparently from an old couple who...
'Just fancied a little something to tow their Caravan behind'
A series of Steering vibration/leaks/Electrical system failure
& finally culminating in Clutch pedal falling off,
prompting at least Two loader trips back to TTH motors,
they as you'd hope looked at and sorted out the problems,
but when it came to the clutch failure they baulked saying;
well its out of Three month warranty so its not Reeeeally our concern
at which point we pointed out the fact it'd spent not an inconsiderable
part of that period, on a ramp in their own workshop being mended
they concurred and called in some pikeys to beat it right again with sticks.
I even offered to give it back at value I'd paid,
considering both its
lack of reliability and duration of ownership,
I'd then buy another 4WD on offer there(not LR)
and pay the slight difference in price,
this met with something approaching dismay,
So I had it back and,
whilst in one piece Briefly
traded rid of it thank god

So, 7/10.
Not bad round these parts.
Test drove a car from there in 1996 and looked at a high priced car in 2001
They're usually highish windscreen prices but an occasional bargain can be had if it's sticky stock (but see below) they sell a lot thro' t'internet and will barter with price (but again see below)
They certainly used to sell non-stock vehicles on commission
Two brothers do the selling one is friendly the other is a car salesman, you'll immediately know which is which, don't think dad gets involved much, might be wrong
For many years the dad's green Bristol 401 was for sale, wonder if it's still in the showroom, not on web site, so they're not usually in a rush to sell !
I’m sure you’d be disappointed if I didn’t mention the Sporting Bears rally plate on the showroom wall

Well I think if PP comes down for a gander, the local PH massive can turn up mob-handed.
