Hello all,

Please can you give me some ideas of where to go for nice backdrops for car photography? Nothing professional, i'd just like to get some pictures of the cars when the sun finally comes out to play at the weekend - It's things like this that remind me i'm still new to these here parts!!

pistford would be good at the moment with the high waterline, if you goto the causeway end you can get the car really close to the water for some nice reflection shots,

I`ll ignore the apostrophe this time and suggest Eyebrook Res -

Or a field of OSR, in flower around the end of April?

`ll ignore the apostrophe this time' - Gee Thanks!! Actually I've logged in from work this morning to change that!

Thanks for the suggestions - i'll go out and about exploring at the weekend.

Matt you took a great picture of my VX on Sunday (It's now my wallpaper on my work pc - helps me through the day...) Thank you. Please could you send me a jpeg via email as i'd like to print it out?

Cheers,
Clair.

If your looking for a nice run out too - the White Horse Hill in south Oxfordshire has a fantastic photo spot - you have to drive up a pretty steep and narrow hill to get to it, but once you're there it's fab. driving nuts

Think you'll have to get a mod to change the title of your thread, pretty sure Di will change it for you

you could try the road that runs through Stowe school too, looks pretty nice around there, or Delapre abbey area in town

Here's one of my TVR taken at Eyebrook last Autumn on the side of the lake nearest the Uppingham to Caldecott road....

The peninsula at Rutland Water also has a great flowing, smooth, empty road leading to Hambleton. Took this of my old Chimaera there (we'd been for lunch at the pub there which is why Mrs L was driving and the pic isn't the crispest!).....

Or, if you can find enough friends to help out, head for the nearest bit of dual carriageway and try something like this that I took of a mate.....

Have fun!

We went 'down south' this weekend (had a skid pan day at Goodwood today), and so I've got a nice pic of the VX by the Goodwood sign, but that's not exactly Northamptonshire!! Fingers crossed for the weather on Saturday as we should have some more time to explore. Shame it clashed with the TVRCC meet as we'd have gone to that today.

I am off to Pitsford after work today to update my car photos.

p.s. Althorp is ok, but you can't get close enough to the house to make a 'pretty picture'.
