Try not to go to super market petrol stations. Wellingborough, Weston Favel Tesco and Morrisons could all have contaminated fuel. . .

I filled up at Tesco Weston Favell last night.

(and the car is running fine)

Maybe that is why the 95ron pumps were covered.

As mentioned, the pumps are already shut so you should be ok if you run on 99 like me.
That also explains why the place was so quiet instead of the normal mayhem.

If my car goes wrong on Sundays run then we will know why...lol

HMMMMMMMMM now then this has got me thinking.

a bit of background,

Last week my Engine Management light came on

O2 sensor issue, was reset, then came on again, O2 sensor issue, O2 sensor replaced. Then on the Raunds hoon it came on again, Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor issue, Sensor replaced.

I wonder if it is just a coincidence. I usually fill up at tescos, but due to work locations over the last week or so i've had to fill up at various other places. Including the BP at Raunds on the Sunday morning.

would kind of make sense, after reading the stuff on the BBC website. I didn't think BP was one of the companies affected though?

I filled up in Tesco yesterday with 99 RON (which was also the only one available), and the VX seems fine. Hopefully the issues are around the normal fuel....

I've got an update

My fixed car lasted 60 miles.

ECU light back on, on way to work, back in the garage this morning. O2 Sensor PRE-CAT faulty.

The joy, this is beginning to look like more than just a coinicidence

Strange that apparently local stations have been tested and all is well.
Mines fine and i filled yesterday, mind you that is diesel.
Nurse! filled hers to without issue from Tesco.
(Mind you her cars so shagged it would be hard to tell the difference).

Guy who I work with is having problems with his Peugeot - O2 sensor gone too apparently. He filled up at Tesco in Hemel Hempstead on Saturday. Symptoms didn't kick in until about 100 miles later, garage he took it to is testing fuel as they have had a few similar things happen in recent days.
Tesco has a dedicated complaint line handling queries - if anyone having problems give them a call and register your complaint. My mate called and they are very thorough about nature of problems, but very helpful and just want to make sure it is a genuine problem so they can compensate at a later date if necessary.
If anyone needs the dedicated number to register your complaint, I can get it from my mate tomorrow.

A colleague has had his BMW and his wifes Saxo go down with the 'silicone' in the fuel problem.
He got the sensor replaced last week after filling up at Morrisons in Leighton Buzzard. It is obvious the contaminated fuel has been around for a week or two!
