Any local Lotus owners attending this? It's been set up by Lipscombe Lotus as a record attempt of the largest convoy of Lotus' and is this Sunday. There's a link here... www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=347808&f=15&h=0 ...to another thread in the Elise/Exige/Europa/340R section.

Not sure where we're meeting up yet, but I'll let you know if you want to convoy down with us?
I know we've got to be at Lipscome at 9

She does indeed, but normally spelt wrong I've noticed...

Let me know where you're gonna meet up and I'll join you for the journey if that's alright. I'll email you my number.

Um. It was ok. A lot of hanging about. A lot of over heating. A lot of eventual boredom and frustration.

You have to do the parade so far apart from each car and at a set pace so takes a few attempts to get right.

I'm glad I took part but unless it was going to be real local and I didn't have other stuff on I am not keen to do it again.

Sorry, sounds quite negative but some issues that you may have to face. It's far better going with a group so you can have a laugh together.

Most irritating, you are on a track and itching to use it but cant!

TBH I also have not looked at the agenda for this attempt and know little about it, just commenting on my experience. To help with the track desires we did have track events before the record attempt. Could have partly contributed to the hanging about for those who didn't really join the track stuff.

Do let me know ll about it, send pics etc. You'll probbly see a few of my Elaners there!

The sun was out no doubt! what a lovely feeling that is. Sunshine on a cold day, with being outside ALL day. Brilliant! Post a picture of the glow someone!

Late yesterday afternoon I went round the M25 from just north of the river at Dartford, all the way to the M1, then up the M1.

I didn't see a single Lotus.

Where were they?

did see a few M100's but they did seem to have a problem with their steering, as none of them seemed to be able to park in a straight line when we were parked up before the laps all seemed to have parked at an angle for potential photo oportunities hehe

It was good to meet you all and put some names to faces. Matt & Di, thanks for being easy people to talk to. Sorry I may have appeared a bit off, but I was knackered. I promise to be more pleasent to talk to on the run in March.

Also, sorry to the guy with the fantastic lamb-chop style side burns. I stalled getting off in the first place paperbag and I can't remember your's or the lady you were with's name.

I hope you all had a good run back? I stuck around for a little while with TonyH and StuW to let the traffic go first.

I did wonder if you stalled at the start
was good to meet you too, I was pretty knacked too, so can't say I noticed hehe hopefully have another chin wag at the northants run?
The guy in the 135 is called Chris (135sport on PH) and his wife is called Kinga.
Had a good run back, lost the rest of them when we stopped for petrol, so had to tunnel run the dartford tunnel on our own evil

Defo. worth the trip in the end, after alot of waiting and not really being sure whether or not we'd get to take part!

Nice to finally have a natter with the Tracksides, Matt172, Mxdi and Skid Solo. Also nice to meet Chris and Kinga in the dirtiest Elise there!

Named and shamed! She's so dirty you can hardly read the writing on her... nono

I think the funiest moment had to be Kinga kicking off at one of the staff whilst a guy on the mic was trying to give us a briefing!
