...looking forward to seeing the 2 porsche spyders this year
Matt, I very much doubt that the Porsches will be there this year. They are only on the entry list due to their winning at ALMS level, hence gaining them automatic entry. I don't think it's part of Penske's game plan to do LM...yet.
Similarly, the Vitaphone Maserati MC12 is also on the list due to its winning the FIA GT Championship. However, the Maser is not homologated to the ACO regs to allow it run at LM.
Seems a bit pointless giving them automatic entry in a way, but I s'pose if Vitaphone wanted to enter a different car, say an Aston or a 'Vette, then they could get their entry guaranteed that way.

They will be there. Would you like to place a bet on it.

Matt, put yourself in this position. Your cars are made by a a company who's cars have one of the best results in cars finishing at Le-mans in all classes. You have a good chance to create a platform to work off.

You seem very confident about this. Everything I have read so far says that the Penske Porsche RS Spyders will not be entering Le Mans in 2007. I'd be interested to know why you're so sure they will be...
Still waiting for the all knowing Simo....Digger man,
On the fact that no Porsche Spyders entering LM07,Wolfgang Durheimer (Porsche Executive V.P.) stated as much (no Porsche Spyders at Le Mans until 2008) at the Porsche Awards dinner in December 06.
Penske have stated they are not coming and Dyson aren't either as they are both concentrating on the ALMS.
As you are in the know.........who is going to turn up at the test weekend then?
I was under the impression that all the teams turn up, hence thats why they brought the test day forward a few weeks as it was too expensive for teams to set up camp then having to decamp only to come back a month or so later for the race.Plus I don't want to be watching an empty track on the 3rd!!!!!
