A grim Fri night on Northants' roads

I had to divert last night as road was closed - I suspected as much as that road is used as a race track by all and sundry! Speed camera time for sure!
2 BMW's (Z3 and a 320) and a Xsara - any bets on who was racing and who got caught up in their stupidity?

There are plenty of them out there - a few weeks ago a Porsche came over the brow of the hill from the Harborough direction as I was approaching the brow from A14 end- he was on the wrong side of the road overtaking a lorry on the wrong side of the double whites well in excess of three figures and I was coming up the hill overtaking a car as we approached the merge to a single lane. If me and the other guy hadn't been 100% awake we would have been mincemeat!
I see many many stupid things happen on that stretch of road including many instances of slower vehicles pulling out of the lay by's at innapropriate times and races going on between so many different vehicles its untrue. It really is treated as a racetrack - badly designed IMHO!
Strange one but luckily no deaths..http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/no

"The elderly woman driver of a silver Suzuki Wagon" - conjure sup an image of an old dear driving a truck but I'm sure they mean one of those boxes on wheels (Wagon R)
Not surprising really as there are now more elderly drivers than ever before and their eyesight and reaction times are not as sharp. I'm sure there's an element of "survival of the fittest" kicking in here!
