you're right I would am interested to know how you'd do it, not sure you can polish paint back onto a car if you look at the 2nd picture, that faded area is the silver paint showing through, rosso pearl is renouned for being bad when it comes to fading

I can`t really tell from those pics, Matt. What I do know is, polish made a huge difference to my Cerb. (pearl blue) I think it stood outside and covered in crap for several months.

rosso pearl is silver and then oversprayed with the red, on picture 2, you can see silver over both wings and onto the bonnet, this is where the red as worn, you can;t polish it out, all you'll get is silver

Well I`d say that was the reflection of the sky? Perhaps I`m wrong, but how`s the paint "worn away" on a 10-y-o car? Anyway, I`d reckon the paintwork should be low on the list of priorities when looking at TVRs.

I don't know the exact reason why it does it, maybe I need to ask somewho's got that colour, but its not a reflection. Thats why the car is so cheap because it needs a full respray.
And yes you're right its very low on the priority list, but if a respray was going to cost 10grand then it wouldn't even be worth looking at the car, sounds like the channel islands is the place to live if you want a street legal no cats car though thumbup

just found this in one of the tvr gossip threads

rosso pearl is in effect a silver car with a red ink added to the laquer, once it has seen sunlight it is nearly impossible to match. and someone else has said that the red ink is a separate layer and then laquered don't matter now anyway, its been sold

The other thing to remember with Tiv pearl paints is that they are sourced from RM, a continental supplier, and not every body shop can handle the system. A lot of 'matching' problems arise from people using other systems to try and match RM cars, which is rarely successful.
