MOT is due in a months time.

Can anyone recommend a cheap place to get the car tested?

(my car is standard so anywhere will be fine).

Am fairly certain that everyone charges the same fee as set out by VOSA, although I could be wrong, but I did find this link

www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/carlgvowners/mottesting/mottestfees.htm

I was charged £44.15 on 13th March this year

No, the £44 is the maximum (I think), some charge less.

I got the car MOT'ed near my parents (essex) last year as nobody charges anywhere near £44.

It would just be easier for me to get the car done locally.

Oooh, I never knew that silly

Edited to add : this was in response to Nic's post above, not Blipi's. Don't want anyone thinking I've lost all my marbles

Apparently if you arrange an MOT online through Kwik-fit they only charge £34.95

www.kwik-fit.com/mot-testing-and-servicing.asp

Edited to add : which if fine if you don't mind using Kwik-fit, which I would for the Peugeot but I don't think I'd trust them with the TVRs

Nic, I have taken all my cars to EBC/J&M Commercials, phone number is above,
they dont do MOT there but the garage next door do, but EBC will arrange it all so that you only pay them, I've never had any nasty surprises there and they are a bargain, I also trust the guys there- its not like walking into kwikfit

Its close ish to town, open 7.30 til 5.30 but you can leave keys through letter box if you need to drop car off early.

I don't need special treatment, just a cheap MOT.

I will look up numbers of the places mentioned so far, thanks.
