Hello all. Sorry this is totally off topic.

I have had a terrible spate of bad luck with almost everything recently.

Now my fridge freezer has decided to pack up

Still has power but no cooling/freezing properties. Is a Hotpoint Mistral Frost Free.

Anyone here have any skills in this area as I have zero money to throw at this and cannot afford a replacement.

Sigh...

Stef, sorry to hear that your bad luck is continuing. It sounds like the compressor has gone. Yours is the second one I've heard about in a week.

I have a fridge that you can have if you're desperate but there's no freezer compartment. You'll have to arrange to collect it tomorrow though as we're off on a jolly on Tuesday morning.

Call me on the mobile if you want it.

Cheers doode but I am using my 'beer fridge' that I have been meaning to sell on ebay for the past year. Got that all sorted for now.

Thanks very much for your offer though!

Have a good 'jolly'!

Our Stephanie isn't having much luck. Things like this happen in three's. Lotus steering (1) TVR pump (2) Fridge (3) so that should be it!!!

Part of my engineering was refrigeration, if Alan is right then just throw it away, if the R22 gas has escaped. Some story. Slide it out Stef, and hit the big black dome with a soft mallet, or a Dr Martin boot that I know you own, and you may free a wee piston might be stuck, although this usually kills the leccy motor. Defrost timer, give it a wiggle. (highly technical eh)
