Went to Brunty this afternoon as couldn't make the morning.
What a blast!
Great fun. 2 Spins a minor one and a >720! no idea why the grip suddenly wnet but was not the only one to spin at that point so....
They had more peeps than ever wanting rides and less cars than ever giving them!
I was busy. Really busy but the track was good fun.
Cooked the tyres though!

Alan, Brunters is notoriously slippy off-line, there's loads of rubber marbles and gravel on the margins and even on what looks like the line. Dodgy as hell on the bike whenever I've been there...

Glad you had a good time guys... would have loved to have been there but today I was mostly fetching, fitting and bleeding these little beauties.

Those going on the Tiv? I need new discs and pads so I was thinking about an upgrade. Talk to me!
Any problems getting the hubs off?

NOT LITTLE - OMG!! did they go under the 15" rim then? Them there bits of metal are very nice. Your old brakes parts will sell easily on ebay.
Oh, they fit, although it's tight! The previous pic does accentuate the dinner-plate look due to the wide angle lens used To be honest, there was nothing 'wrong' with the stock brakes...these just came along at a very good price and are somewhat lighter and shinier! I've never had any problems with the stock Chimp brakes and provided the pads/rotors are in good nick, with decent air-free fluid, see no 'need' to change although there are some nice conversions out there.

It's all pretty straight forward Alan and no need to disturb the hubs... mine had been apart recently for the suspension refurb but the only sticky bits were the rotors that needed a tap to free them from the hub face. Two bolts only for the calipers to uprights and most of the aftermarket options mount radially to a bracket that fits to the upright (four bolts total each side). The bit I hate is the bleeding job of bleeeding them up afterwards... me and brake fluid don't mix. Yuk.
Yet to road-test so we'll see if it was worth sacrificing a Sunday for.
If you're on 15" fronts still, then 285mm is about as big as you can go, 300s will fit under 16s. Some aftermarket calipers have no weather seals, so I was pleased to see these Hi-Specs do... having said that, I know of Wilwoods that have been run for several years without and they have not given rise to problems although I think you would have to factor in additional maintenance over standard fit and forget. It is possible to upgrade just using Ford bits (Sapphire Cossie 4-pot calipers IIRC).

Have you only done the fronts?

Yes... you ever noticed that the bias, as standard, is a little too rearward? It's perceived wisdom to leave the rears as is unless monster stoppers are fitted at the front. And as that would involve much bigger rims, laccie band tyres and all the associated suspension knock-ons, you'd be starting from scratch anyway. Methosd in my madness
