I had the unfortunate pleasure of visiting Kettering town centre yesterday to do a little shopping with my good lady for our hols.

Now I’m not racist or anything but...........

It was like being in part of the old USSR; every other voice seemed to be Russian sounding.
Including two blokes coming up to me demanding a smoke, 'You give me cigarette', err no, 'You give me cigarette', err F@ck off! Felt rather intimidated by this to be fair.

What is going on?

Not sure about immigration, thinks it's verging on a legal invasion!

Before getting flamed I have no problem with immigration, I think if it's to bring in skills required for our country to become great once more is fine. We desperately need more doctors, nurses, dentists etc.
But are we so short of unskilled workers we need this level?
Looking at the job situation locally as I’m sick of commuting and unless you want or can afford to work for £15k a year there’s nothing and even the more menial jobs seem to have gone from the papers.

I've worked in London for 6 years so am used to being in the minority but in little place like Kettering?

Far too early for ranting but needed to be said!

When that 7 acres of land and house, with crofters stables came up for £30,000 on Eday, a couple of years back. Maybe just should have gone... With new networking methods, I am sure outsourcing would have been a solution for work. Hey there's always ebay.

Thrave, Sanday - 0.89 acres or thereby. Back on Market Offers over £18,000, why go Spain, or Bulgaria.

Looks pretty cool to me!
No speed cameras, no chavs, no crime, no drugs.
(Unless you grow your own).

Would have to brew your own beer too.

Now how do you make bio-ethanol?

Orkney's population has dropped over the last year by 0.1 per cent. Just 19,220 people to talk to
On crap weather and global climate changes - annual average temperatures could rise by 2 degrees C. Summer rainfall in Orkney will decrease by 27 per cent, with winter rainfall increasing by ten per cent as snowfall averages decrease by 89 per cent

Oh and....
A sighting of over 40 dolphins was reported in Scapa Flow on Wednesday morning.

£20,000

I hope to do Orkney next year. Been speaking to some cool folk who live there ( opportunity to stay over and have a pish up too!) and the islands are very historic.

The driving there is sposed to be awsome! They have a big road maintenence budget which if they don't spend they don't get as much so the roads are also well kept.

I'd like to incorporate a blip up there as part of the Scottish invasion blip 'Beyond the Wall' but some of you are bound to play excuses like 'it's tooo far' and such. Not as far as driving to the ring and back and I'm sure you'd consider that. And the roads... oooohhhh the roads..... aaahhhhh cloud9 they are so damn fun!!! Gotta be done folks.

I've been looking at Stirling as a place to live. Good living, great mountains and roads and friendlier folk. You get used to the funny accents! Even to appreciate the bagpipes.

I am doing my bit to make us all a little warmer.

I would love to go all the way up there. I keep thinking about this lots, and shall for sure one day take a left turn at the end of the A14, and point North. Then see where I end up
