Local food and beer for local people
Northants and surrounding counties

Good for ideas if you are planning a run with food/drinks at end of it.

I will try to update the top post with all ideas so you dont have to trawl through pages to find just the one.

you should try the fox and hounds in Risley Mark, they'll do what ever size steak you want, think the record is 80oz or something stupid like that

Its very goos, they have their own butchers table, you pick what cut you want and how big, then they cook in on an open grill in the resurant

Oh this is one thread that my missus and her mate will love. Expect some postings soon.

Meanwhile:

The Red Lion at Welham may be cheap but there's a reason for that - You have been warned - had some bad experiences there and now most definitely off our list. Friend's daughter worked there for a couple of weeks........

For Indiam you CANNOT beat Little India in Arnesby (Leics) - yes I know its a bit out of the area but . And they will happily accomodate non Indian food lovers in the party. Lovely staff and although the service can be slow it just heightens the anticipation. It's a good run from Northampton too if you take the back roads.
