Got the car back yesterday afternoon from Guglielmi's in Daventry after having had the steering rack rebuilt, steering column UJ's greased and ride height adjusted after springs had settled from initial fitting.

They also recommended and fitted a new throttle linkage that now gives an INSTANT response to depressing right foot!!

I watched the guys reset the amount of "toe in" at the front (whatever that is ). It took 3 test drives followed by more tweaking until they were happy with the results.

Thoroughly recommend Guglielmi's to anyone - the attention to detail was very impressive (and noticeably different to the previous well regarded TVR specialist I used) - maybe this is because of their involvement in motorsport.....?

Net result is a "new" car that accelerates & handles better than ever

Pleased to see you've got it back and its better than ever - Every cloud has a silver lining!

Not as good as the TiV you were in last Sunday though?

I've never ridden in an S so maybe next time we meet up you can take me for a spin?

Ian, glad it's better now, don't get mixed up between how much it toes in and how much you toe down.

Alan, if I ever escape to socialise again you're more than welcome to have a go in mine as well, just remind me, perhaps you'd also reciprocate? Dave

I sold my Chimaera when we moved and got the S, an everyday Golf and half a new kitchen with the money Ok, maybe Mrs L influenced the new kitchen bit rather than it being a V8S and a Golf but I can't complain really

No problem - hopefully Sunday if I can make it? Just remember you'll need to bring your own fridge to keep your drinks cool and it doesn't sound like yours (creaks and rattles with a screaming V6 compared to your refined interior with a V8 burble!). I'm just glad the S has stopped making that exhaust clamp breaking sound of metal on tarmac now the ride height's been reset

Big thanks to Wayne. Went to the trouble of ringing me 3 times with updates. Just hope there`s no more problems before the 48,000 mile sevice. He said the clutch was OK and only a slight "tapettyness." (Whatever that is.)

What was the final diagnosis Mark? Might be worth posting up in the Cerb forum too if it might help someone...

Just a loose wire really. He also put a new boot solenoid in. The old one was seized. Just a case of how long it took to find it.
