Hi guys,

Mark Skinner is having problems with his thatchems alarm\immob\central locking on his TVR.

One minute it arms and locks the doors next it wont unlock but disarms... Sometimes the windows dont shut fully sometimes they do..

Could it be that the system is detecting that the window isnt closed correctly so doesnt lock but arms??

Any Ideas?!?

I had to break into his motor whilst he was stuck at halfords.. Managed to get a coat hanger through the gap in the glass and push the button on the dash to open the doors good ole trusty coat hanger

As you can see mark got thirsty so popped into halfords for a refeshing drink..

don't know if you already have, but might be worth putting this on the cerb forum, or looking in the FAQ's on there, bound to have come up before
Did see something about a guy with a Tuscan, and his window wasn't opening when he popped the door, something to do with the alarm sensors

few on the cerb forum www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=274588&f=6&h=0

Yeah, thanks Matt. Paul harris had the door in bits the other week, but if anything it`s worse! Dave played around with the c/l box in the boot but that didn`t help either...

Maybe not the wisest of things to be advertising on a public forum where an unlocked Cerb can be found, huh?

Hope you get it sorted Mark, doubt it's anything major.

Yeah, Gary, I know the "method" but it`s not really much much use for locking it on the way to the pub or wherever... I reckon it`s just a loose wire somewhere or other?

Ok Lets do this sucker! ...... I presume you have found time to get the parts I requested some three weeks ago .

However cannot guarantee this is where the intermittent fault is? In reality it may be worth looking for a decent auto electrician, NAPS or NDES in Northampton. These guys are very good and since its causing so much discomfort to you, it’s worth the few quid to get it right and enjoy the summer.

UPDATE! Went over to see mr Googleplex (sp) in Daventry today. Looks like a loose or corroded wire. They`re not sure where though! Going back on monday armed with a sledge-hammer. Big thanks to Justin for navigating.
