Hi all,

This was talked about a couple of weeks ago. For those that are not familiar with it this an evening gathering in a small village SW of Melton Mowbray that can attract 100's of cars & bikes, which is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. I've not been before but intend to go on 9/5.

When we discussed it there was talk of meeting in or near Market Harborough. How about a 2nd meeting point for those of us in the north of the area? I was thinking about the Rose & Crown at Tilton on the Hill, which is on the B6047 about 1 mile north of the A47 and not far from Ashby? Turn right in the village and the pub is next to the church.

I understand that in mid summer it's best to be at Ashby by 18.30 so suggest meeting at Tilton at 18.15.

Anyone else up for it?

My biggest issue will be getting out early enough to meet for those times.

Would like to go though.

I'm going, depends when I finish work as to which route (I'm only about 8-9 miles away from it). If I'm early enough, happy to go via Tilton!

From the Tilton direction, you'll sweep through the village passing a manor house to the left, you'll then see the circket pitch (also on your left) but you have to drive alongside it. Then you'll see the pub on the right, which is on a sharp left hand bend. Just past this is the enterance to the pitch, there are likely to be people at the entrance (last year £1 to park). If you overshoot, be careful at the small humpback type bridge as it is a bit narrow! [There is only one road through the village but it meanders]

If there's space, people also pask along the road but be careful of the exhaust on the kerb. The pub car park is usually reserved for vintage cars. Dave

18.30's a bit early to get there for me too.

Anyone else going from N'pton want to meet up for a convoy.
I'd suggest 18:30 at Jade.. ?

Thats because it started off as a VSCC meeting and everyone else has just piled in! There are also two additional fields used for parking on the other side of the road to the cricket pitch but anyone with a low slung bespoilered car would better off on the cricket pitch or the road.

so who is going from market harborough then?

i will probably take the exige if i can't get the westfield mot'ed in time, and would gladly join an existing convoy if there is one.

cheers,

si

Which route are you taking Mark? Any chance of meeting up on the way, on or near A47, possibly at Tilton on the Hill? If not I'll see you there.

Sorry, if it's via the Melton road, then it's got to be on two wheels; it's the law

Ooooo I'm still undecided.

Was sposed to meet at the same suggested MH roundabout and leave Blipi to go on the bike.

Dilemmas dilemmas...

Sweet.

Don't forget we were planning a stop at the Mc D's / Travelodge roundabout on the A6 by Market Harb for other Northants people.

I may be passengering with Justin where I may swop to a bike at the Market Harb roundabout or not. Weather dependent mainly.

Must remember me camera!
