Block paved drives?
Discussion
I've got a block paved drive, it's been down about 12 years. It was down when I bought the house, so don't know who laid it. If there are parts of your drive that are shaded/damp you get moss growing between the blocks. I spray weed killer over it in the summer months to try to keep the weeds growing. Other than that it's been great. I jet washed it a couple of years ago and it came up lovely again. I re-sanded and sealed it but I have noticed it's sinking in places. I think the bricks need lifting, re-bedding and re-laying (probably not cheap).
If I was going to have a new drive layed, I think I would look at coloured concrete with a pattern presseed in to it to look like block paving. Just my two penneth!

I had mine block paved around 25 years ago and it still looks a treat when pressure washed and weed killed. There has been the odd area that has sunk either due to ants undermining it or general sinkage due to roots etc. 2-3 hours to lift a small, area and repack with sand and a big rubber hammer solves the problem easily. A friend went for the patterned concrete, but after a couple of years sinkage caused a good few cracks to appear, these are a lot harder to deal with than a few blocks sinking.
