Oundle classic 'sprint' - 28 Dec

Not seen anything about this but spotted a flier in the town yesterday; might be worth a squint if the weather holds...

Went over to see what it was like and got there just in time for it to come a halt as two cars crashed on the slippery first corner one after the other . The second incident stopped the driving as driver appeared to have neck injury and was ( 25 minutes later when I wandered down ) kept in the car with firemen holding Her head still , I guess they were waiting for an ambulance to turn up ?
Shame as it looked like a good little event , loads of spectators keeping the pubs and cafes busy.

Happily, she was eventually helped from the car and managed to walk away under her own steam. She later returned to the same spot to observe so I'm assuming no lasting damage thankfully. Did look very concerning for a while and the very smart old MG was a bit of a sorry state.
Not sure about the event generally. Certainly some spectacular sights and sounds so top marks for making it happen, but can't help thinking the crowd separation and barriers were completely inadequate given the drifting that was occurring. Commentator was pretty clueless too (but enthusiastic so forgiven some of his gaffes I guess).
