Are there any PH rental experts in the Kettering or Northants region?

Looking for advise on possibly renting my 3 bed place in Burton Latimer. Double length garage!

What to expect if using an agent or arranging independently and things I should be aware of, such as gas/elec maintenance contracts etc.

I'd like to ideally handle renting away from agencies if I do decide to rent.

Much appreciated!

I have a little experience . Its not as straight forward as you would think , I have managed myself but its only worth it if you know and trust your tenants .
You're welcome to mail me through my profile if you wish . Research DPS , its a pain but a legal requirement .

Thanks, have looked that up and also getting a couple of agencies over asy it is now most likely I will be looking to rent my place out in the next couple of months smile

Would suit a PHer well. I'll list it in Classifieds shortly

Received good advice thanks!

I'd like to find my own tenant and manage the house. It's ideal for a PHer with cars, good location, safe road and double length garage smile

Agents seem to charge their 'managed' percentage on top of all the other costs so don't seem to really give much value over the checks, legal bits and finding tenant!

Starting to look a bit more like an advert for your house now rather than asking for advice, don't you already rent a house out to a ph'er? wink

Hmm yes it does sound a bit like an advert.

If you want to know about agents, get some to look at your house and quote for their 'services'. That would be a good starting point. Free as well.

The only benefit is income. Everything else is a negative, but if you run it like a business then you are half way there.

Have you rented it out before? If not surely you didn't just buy a house to let out without looking into it?

From experience, a lot of people want the rental income from their house but don't want anyone actually living there…

Tried to do a PH ad but seems it is only for cars now as you need a Reg number.

Done the agency rounds and received some good advice messages from PHers.

I'm not fussed who lives in my house as long as it is kept in good order and there are no issues. Families and pets would be welcome as the house caters well with living space and pet space as well as good Garage space for a petrolhead. It's the garage space I'm finding it harder to get with a house! Our joint car pool is large and soon to grow larger with an exciting new addition! smile

It's been good to understand current requirements and costs as I still hope to go without an agent although may use their finder service.

Of the house comes available to rent near August send me a PM as we may be interested, we rent at the minute but could do with a bigger garage.
