On Saturday morning some drunken prick decided to smash his car through my driveway wall and into my car. So now the entire passenger side of my Octavia vRS along with the roof and boot are smashed to bits. Insurance are trying to send my car to Motofix Northampton. I've never used them before, and I know that the approved Skoda body shop is over in Bedford. So my question is, do I just go with Motofix or insist on Skoda approved bodyshop?

personally I'd prefer the Skoda specialist but you'll need to check your insurance terms and conditions in case there's an increase to the excess or something

why not visit Motofix and have look around and talk to all including the manager just to let them know if your car comes to them you're expecting a very high quality job, be nice about it obviously, by letting them know hopefully they take care as they know you'll complain and return the car if they don't, a personal visit is more effective than a number of phone calls - http://www.motofix-arc.co.uk/locations/northampton

I wish I'd been able to do this with my wife's car that went to a franchise repairer through the insurance as it had to be retuned twice for minor silly items and a couple that were less so, the car was always collected and a loan vehicle given (my wife paid extra on her insurance for this, well worth the £22) and the customer service side was always very prompt, polite and friendly and most of the main work on the car was good but let down by the finishing work
