Afternoon fellow PHR's. It is my son, Joshua's school prom on 28th June and he has asked me if i can ask you if anyone with a suitable car ( yes it is badge snobbery to a 16 year old)could take him and his girlfriend to the school prom. They both live in Higham Ferrers, about a mile from each other and the school is in Higham too. So all in all a round trip of about 2 miles!! Plus your travel to Higham. i will meet all fuel costs and of course a bottle of nice red will be thrown in too ( not literally).
They need to be there about 7.30, so pick up about 7.10 ish.
Look forward to hearing from you all.
Dave

Dave you're too soft on the kid, slap his 'ead and tell him we're English we don't this sort of American stuff

I'd suggest you send him in a taxi without the fare but a thick ear

what colour red Fezza to satisfy his standing with his peers that know nothing about cars or the value of anything only its price

more seriously -

what sort of car does he want?

how many passenger seats (one for him only or two cars)?

I blame the parent for the kid's bad upbringing

I'm happy to help out with a shiny red VXR8 and a burbling V8 engine that will seat four in comfort. I'm sure there will be better offers, but please shout if you need me.

And if he's a badge snob, then don't worry, all of the Vauxhall badges have been removed and replaced with HSV.

I'm also happy to bring the car over before the event, to see if it suits him....lol

Cheers wavey

Knowing my lovely son, the flashier the better!

Two passenger seats, one for him and one for the girlfriend.

I know if he only needed one seat your car would be at the top of the list.

he's too big for my car, and he wouldn't get a lift in it until he'd cleaned and polished it and check the tyres, the fluid levels, etc., etc.,

but he could be sure that the wheel nuts are torqued correctly and a wheel wont fall of, unlike in other people's cars wink

so you want a car with more than one passenger seat

have you contacted DaveM ?

take 'em in the van and claim it all back

can you think of anyone from Kimbolton show or rides with a suitable car(?)

Shame you say it needs to take two passengers. While my car does in theory have four seats, in reality I can't fit anyone older than 8 in the back, let alone your sons girlfriend, who I assume will be dressed in something resembling an enormous meringue.

I live in HF and have a 4 door / 4 seater as per my username (click on my profile). I'll also be at Dove House so collar me there if you're interested.
