I know, it sounds unbelievable, but an amazing number of people can do it, im just hoping no one on here does!
What do I mean you're asking?
Its freezing cold, frosty, snowy with a nice respectable level of road spray being thrown up & as you drive along everything is shades of white, grey and black, and to make your car invisible all you have to do is turn your headlights off! Do that and as far as everyone else is concerned you disappear!! Experienced car vanishers will leave their house or place of work with no lights on so they get full stealth mode immediately, but its a risky thing to do, and maybe any beginners shouldn't jump right in at the deep end like this!!
Strangely the worst offenders seem to drive white, silver, grey or black cars which just so happen to vanish even better!
Now its daytime, I know these people dont need their lights to see where they're going, but i'd like them to have their lights on so we can see them!!
And dont get me started on the plums who think that the way to drive a car covered in snow is to jump in, start it up, use the wipers to clean the front and rear screens and then drive off!!!!! Side windows still completely covered!
So if you see anyone trying to pull off the invisible car trick, why not wind your window down and salute them in any way you think is fitting, they'll be really glad you appreciate the effort they've made!
Aaaaaaaand relax!!!!

Crossing the A5 in that snow yesterday I was just about to go, when I realised a white car with no lights on was coming up the hill...

it's not their fault, the car manufacturers should put a button in the car to make the car visible

they should also put a button in that clears the whole car of snow and all the complete window areas of frost and another button to keep all the lights and number plates clear and clean - it's not fair that all this is left to the driver !

we must all petition the car manufacturers

and why don't the tyre manufacturers make tyres that grip the snow and ice at usual traveling speeds - again it's all left to the driver to deal with, this just isn't right

Realised one of my headlights bulbs had gone last night, plus on the same side the spotlight smashes recently and hasn't been replaced. I'm one of Them!

and I hope from your photo post on the Look outside thread that your car wasn't also on the road with your tail lights and number plate covered by unremoved snow, young man

No most certainly not, it's not moved since Saturday am. At least it's an excuse for the gf to drive us to work!

very good, I hope her car has thinner tyres - but what's your excuse for not having mud guards on your push-bike, tut, causing your mum/gf more washing

and no hi-viz wear on at all

and your rucksack puts your centre of gravity too high destabilizing you, you should use panniers as low as possible

and I couldn’t see a bell fitted to the bike eek

you kids, no thought for your actions

it wasn’t like that when I was a young girl, and it was all fields around here, then we’d . . .

You get the two extremes - the invisible cars (and mostly trucks - "I'm big enough to be seen without lights") - then you get the numpties who need their rear fogs on even though it's clear enough for them to be driving at 80mph!!!
