Per the title really. I'd like to get the wheels on my 996 refurbed as they have corroded. Can anyone recommend anyone that's good?

Cheers,

Simon

Ps. I did try the search but it's down atm.

Hi Simon,
I have used someone, pretty sure the name is Awsome wheels, but may be wrong.
It is the person they use at Dove House cars, so you could always give them a call and ask for his number.

I had a set of diamond cut alloys repaired by Rimtec in Woburn Sands recently. Excellent work and good price.

I use http://www.exelwheels.co.uk/

Chris will come to your house or workplace, swap your wheels with a set of his loaner wheels (he has many different types in stock and will definitely have your Porsche wheels) and then take them to Lepsons. Lepsons then refurbish each wheel properly by removing each tyre, stripping the paint off each wheel, repaint and lacquer, refit and balance the tyres and replace the valves. Chris then brings your wheels back, refits them and takes his loaner wheels back.

He's not the cheapest but the service is incredible! My 360 wheels started flaking after he did them recently and he came back and did the work again completely free!

Top outfit.

Hold on, so you're recommending someone who did a shoddy job and then didn't charge you to fix it?

I understand where you're coming from, paint can react etc. If he re-did them free of charge thats not so bad!

I think I need a proper refurb as the wheels have corroded around smart repair areas over the winter.

Only problem is its my everyday car so can't easily send wheels away. Exel wheels' service is just what I'm after. Only problem is that they are quoting £600! But I'm sure that can come down with some negotiation.

A friend just had his Porsche wheels refurbed, quite a nice job done.
Company came out removed wheels fitted a set of their own loan wheels.
week later came back swapped wheels over, job done.
I'll try to get their number/details tomorrow, He found the company in a porsche mag.

IIRC about£450 not the cheapest but hassle free.

Can't really fault that, I'd use him! We all have problems, it's how you sort them that's important!

You'll be delighted with the results. Say hello to Chris from me - tell him I'm the pain in the @rse with the silver Ferrari and he'll know who you mean! wink
