Heyup all

Having missed two great photo opportunities thanks to running errands, I'm hoping to catch some decent photos of the Cathedrals Express this evening as it returns to Northampton Station.

My question is this:

Where are good vantage points for either head on or tunnel shots of this magnificent machine as it runs from Rugby to Northampton?

TIA

Might get a decent view from Long Buckby platform.

You just wanting to see it, or photograph it?

Photograph. Someone said there's a good tunnel near Hunsbury Hill?

Hunsbury is south of NMP. Certainly a tunnel... pass through it most days.

Load up google maps and head south from Northampton station. Tunnel is quite long, but no idea which end you'd want to be or what access is.

I think I've found it...

It's either Hunsbury Hill Tunnel which seems to be bringing back quite a few results on google or St James' Bridge...which is pretty cruddy

I know this is late now but ashby st.ledgers has a small tunnel/bridge that that line runs under.

I'll have to keep an eye on the next time we get steam in the area...I'm not very big on trains, but wouldn't mind catching a good steam shot

Absolutely no use for when you wanted but www.trainspots.co.uk might help in the future. I think there is another steam special in a few weeks.
