I have one and a half bathrooms that need complete refurbishment. New suite, tiles, rads, lights, the lot. The small one I want turning into a wet room.

Can anyone recommend anyone for this work? I'm looking for a design, supply and installation service. Whilst I'm happy to pay a realistic rate, I'll not entertain any of the more "creative " quotes (read horror stories) I've heard. My original plan was to do it myself, I may still have to !!

I live near Oundle.

Thanks.

I recently had a new bathroom fitted. First of all I made the big mistake of not thinning down the paint I used and I ended up with flaky paint that peeled off the walls . So my first advice to you would be if you are not getting a professional in to decorate THIN the paint!!

When looking for my bathroom units e.g. the bath, sink and toilet I visited a Twyford showroom in Stockport as one of my work colleagues has a Twyford bathroom that I thought looked really elegant and modern, basically the look I wanted for my modern apartment. I was quite lucky that I found out the style and appearance that I wanted early on but If I was you and you don’t really know what you want I would visit a few bathroom showrooms in and around your local area - it helps to see mock bathrooms that are made up.

Something else to consider is maintenance. Having a marble top with a sink built in can look nice but after a few uses water sits on the top and it requires constant up keep...just something to keep in mind.
