A couple of us are doing a rally experience at Silverstone at the end of the month.
We will need somewhere to stay local to there so any recommendations?
Good restaurant/beer a must, don't spending a bit to achieve this.
Equally a decent pub with a decent chef that has rooms would be just as good.
So what do the locals recommend?

Good food from their own farm and locally and good ale at the New Inn, Abthorpe they also have what, based on the pub, I would imagine to be good accommodation about one mile (walk?) away at Slapton Manor Farm both are very close to Silverstone (see both links)

Bit further away but again good food and ale with on site accommodation is the Crewe Arms, Hinton–in the Hedges (see link)

you can tell them someone in Northants CAMRA directed you there

The Boat Inn at Stoke Bruerne does good food and beer, The Navigation at Cosgrove does cracking food as well.

the green man on a43 have premier inn behind it. I haven't been to green man to eat since renovating but it use to have good food. Plus you could almost walk to the Silverstone track if needed.

Slapton Manor Farm is very good. You could also try www.silverstoneguesthouse.co.uk - which is very local to me, and less than a mile from the main gate (even close to the rally school).

Baz.

as always a copy of the latest CAMRA Good Beer Guide will take you to good beer and good food (electronic versions now available)

not been there since the new people but the Star Inn, Sulgrave may be worth a try

I can recommend The Navigation at Stoke Bruerne for food. Really like it there. Not sure what accomodation is nearby.

Still does have good food, I'm always impressed by their meal deals: very good price, very good portion size and very good quality of food.
