Moving to Cuneo/The Maritime Alps
Discussion
Hi, I have the offer of a job in the Maritime Alps/Cuneo.
Just looking for info if anyone has been there, what's it like, weather, things to do. I don't ski or snowboard YET so looking forward to starting those!!
Can anyone recommend any places to eat/see/hang out? I love mountains so I'm guessing there's PLENTY there to explore. What are the roads like - is it worth taking a car over there for blatting or is public transport pretty good? (that's prob a silly Q to a PHer!)
Any info is much appreciated as I'm feeling a bit worried as the job starts in a weeks time & I only applied yesterday.
Hannah.

Maybe I'm already late, anyway...can't offer a lot but can eventually be useful to get some ideas...the region is very vast, Cuneo province territory is known as "la provincia granda" (the large province), is possibly the largest, or one of, in Italy. Went there very few times, but can say that the south/west area is very little populated, I assume that having a car there is the way to go (live close to Monza, in the Milan area, and without a car you can forget about going to Milan for a late evening movie, it's very difficult to get back with public transport, around midnight they all stop service, imagine what can happen in very small villages around Cuneo). Outside Cuneo some roads are narrow and challenging, plenty of bends, up&down on the mountains. If useful can contacts some friends from the Turin area to ask for more infos, good luck, ciao!
